Open Innovation Community Workshop

Dear colleagues,

This article contains the output of the Open Innovation Community Workshop that took place on 14th March 2023.

With pleasure we look back at this session, which was attended by more than 40 colleagues from across the ecosytem. In the kick-off, we presented the Community concept and the expectations.

The session was oriented to gather the opinion of the key leaders in health organizations and the perspective of the industry.  Our colleagues, Silvio Pagliara (University of Warwick), Sergio Guillen (MySphera) and Gastone Ciuti (Scuola Superiore Di Studi Universitari e Di Perfezionamiento Sant’Anna supported by Marta Pérez, presented the ODIN Community and key aspects of the ODIN project. They explained what solutions can bring and demonstrated the value these can create for clients, patients and health organizations.

The event was divided into breakout rooms to collect more in detail the insights from the audience, that address issues and challenges related to implementation of the technology in hospitals and the opportunities and challenge to scale up solutions as well as the importance to exchange lesson learned or best practices.

Listening to the audience, the community wants to offer a programme specially dedicated from one side to the healthcare organization and members and for the other side to the industry. The programme will address different topics such:

  • Change management process
  • Procurement of solutions in healthcare
  • Best practices and lesson learned in digital transformation in the healthcare sector
  • Match making events
  • Etc..

We want to remind you that our Community is a big network of partners mainly from the healthcare and ICT domains (AI, robotics, IoT) interested in sharing experiences, learning, challenges, services and solutions, good practices and use cases positioning Europe at the forefront of Hospital 4.0 revolution based on highly digitized and robotized health installations

The aim of the community is to increase the awareness of ODIN platform and solutions and to enable you to pitch, cocreate or deliver digital solutions to our partners.

Under this context, new technologies and applications from Startups and SME attracted and connected through the ODIN innovation HUB (involving citizens, academia, and research, public bodies, SME’s, Startups, Industry, ICT innovators, investors, etc..) be incorporated and accelerated in the ODIN ecosystem to demonstrate benefits from their robotics, IoT and AI enabled applications. This provides the opportunities by replicating best practices, transferring know-how, standards, tools to facilitate the market growth for IoT, Robotics and AI enabled applications.

Further, on the other side of the coin, ODIN Community attracts and connect part of the health network which are the potential adopters and users of the platform who will validate the tools and applications from the industry. Doing this, ODIN community create a strong network effect.

The connection with the Health and the Industry ecosystem allows to further enrich the demand and supply side with the new actors and stakeholders but further network and initiatives are incorporated through the Open Innovation Community, creating a competitive position and good framework for understanding the engagement of hospitals and healthcare providers engaging towards adoption of IoT, robotic and AI enabled applications.

Generally speaking, in the ODIN community the supply will provide an online catalog of technologies that will be completed and expanded as required though the Open Innovation HUB. The demand will perform and internal health technology management assessment in order to identify potential challenges, needs, bottle necks and opportinuties.

In one word,

Welcome to our blog post! We are excited to share with you the output of the Open Innovation Community Workshop that took place on 14th March 2023. The event brought together over 40 colleagues from across the ecosystem who shared their insights and opinions on key topics related to the implementation and scaling of digital solutions in the healthcare sector.

During the session, we presented the ODIN Community concept and its potential impact on the healthcare industry. Our colleagues Silvio Pagliara, Sergio Guillen, and Gastone Ciuti, supported by Marta Pérez, shared key aspects of the ODIN project and demonstrated the value these solutions can create for clients, patients, and health organizations.

The breakout rooms allowed us to collect more in-depth insights from the audience, which revealed the need for a dedicated programme that addresses change management process, procurement of solutions, best practices, lesson learned in digital transformation, and match-making events for the healthcare organization and members, as well as the industry. This programme will enable our partners to share experiences, challenges, services, solutions, and use cases, positioning Europe at the forefront of the Hospital 4.0 revolution based on highly digitized and robotized health installations.

Our Community is a big network of partners mainly from the healthcare and ICT domains interested in sharing experiences, learning, challenges, services and solutions, good practices, and use cases, and positioning Europe as a leader in highly digitized and robotized health installations. Our aim is to increase awareness of the ODIN platform and solutions and enable our partners to pitch, co-create, or deliver digital solutions to our partners.

By incorporating and accelerating new technologies and applications from Startups and SMEs in the ODIN innovation HUB and attracting potential adopters and users of the platform from the health network, we create a strong network effect. This connection allows us to further enrich the demand and supply side with new actors and stakeholders, creating a competitive position and a good framework for understanding the engagement of hospitals and healthcare providers towards the adoption of IoT, robotic, and AI-enabled applications.

In the ODIN community, the supply will provide an online catalog of technologies that will be completed and expanded as required through the Open Innovation HUB, while the demand will perform an internal health technology management assessment to identify potential challenges, needs, bottle necks, and opportunities.

Join us in the ODIN Community and be a part of the revolution towards highly digitized and robotized health installations!
